i am a UK-based self-taught figurative artist working exclusively in ink and focusing on the human form.

having drawn since childhood and without formal training, I have developed my practice through consistent observation and an intuitive understanding of line, contrast and form.

my drawings explore memory, vulnerability, presence and absence. through layers of crosshatched mark-making, figures emerge and dissolve, moving between careful observation and ambiguity. i am interested in the ways our bodies hold emotional experience and what remains when identity and narrative are partially obscured.

with an academic background in the life sciences, my work often takes on a sculptural quality, allowing me to investigate structure, depth and composition within the figure.
